In 2020 Sapphire were asked how SAP Business One could support a growing equipment and tooling retailer who was increasingly renting their products to construction sites to meet the growing demand. Currently valued at more than £6bn, the market is served by more than 5,000 businesses. Many firms sought to protect cash flow by delaying the purchase of equipment and tooling and decided to rent instead. However, as residential and commercial construction began to recover (13.7% growth in 2021) demand for equipment surged. The equipment and tooling rental market in the UK was hit badly by COVID-19 and the subsequent slow down in the construction industry.
